Privacy Policy — Signal Intelligence
Last updated: 27 August 2026
Signal Intelligence (“Signal Intelligence,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates signalintelligence.tech (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it is handled, in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”).
1. Who we are
Signal Intelligence [is / will be] operated by Signal Intelligence (Pty) Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SN Holdings [insert registration number once incorporated], based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Information Officer: Siyethaba Nyawose — signal@hovholdings.com
2. What information we collect
The Site currently does not require account creation to browse content. The information we collect depends on how you use the Site:
- Content preferences: if you select topic or region filters (e.g. “Global,” “South Africa,” “Legal,” “Markets & Economy”), this preference is also sent to and stored on our servers.
- Usage analytics: our hosting platform, Lovable, provides analytics on visits to the Site, which may collect IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, and time spent.
- Direct contact: if you contact us directly (e.g. by email), we retain the correspondence and any information you choose to share in it.
- Account information (future): certain features (including ESG company tracking and report generation) are designed to require an account. If and when account creation is enabled, this policy will be updated to describe what account information is collected (at minimum: name, email address) and the additional lawful basis and rights that apply.
We do not currently collect special categories of personal information (health, biometric, criminal record, etc.) and do not intend to.
3. Why we collect it (lawful basis)
We process personal information on the following bases under POPIA:
- Legitimate interest — to operate, secure, and improve the Site, and to understand how our content is used.
- Consent — where you voluntarily contact us or provide information directly.
- Contract — where account creation is enabled, to provide the service you sign up for.
4. How we use it
- To operate and improve the Site and its features.
- To understand aggregate usage patterns (not to profile individual visitors).
- To respond to correspondence you send us.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties.
- We do not use personal information to make automated decisions about individuals, and we do not score, rank, or rate identifiable people or organisations.
5. Who we share it with
- Service providers: hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g. [insert hosting provider, such as Lovable/its underlying infrastructure]), and any analytics provider named in Section 2, solely to help us operate the Site.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process.
- We do not share personal information with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.
6. Where your information is processed
The Site may be hosted on infrastructure located outside South Africa (e.g. [insert region/provider if known]). Where this involves a cross-border transfer of personal information, we take steps consistent with POPIA section 72 to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection.
7. How long we keep it
- Analytics data: retained for 24 months before being deleted or anonymised. (Confirm this matches Lovable’s own retention terms at lovable.dev/privacy before publishing — we don’t control this ourselves, so this figure should mirror theirs rather than be set independently.)
- Correspondence: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address your query, or as required by law.
- Local device preferences: remain on your device until you clear your browser storage; we do not separately retain these.
8. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Be told what personal information of yours we hold and why.
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of personal information we no longer have a lawful basis to hold.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe we have not handled your information lawfully: inforeg.org.za.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at signal@hovholdings.com.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
See our separate Cookie Notice for details on any cookies or similar tracking technologies used on the Site.
10. Children’s information
The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged prominently on the Site.
